Gumasa, Glan, Sarangani Province

Glan is one of the most visited places in South Cotabato. One of its reason is its endless world class white sand. The water is really refreshing. as if inviting you to swim and stay in the water all the day long. Its white sand and clean blue makes it so relaxing.

From General Santos City it will took you an hour to reach Glan. If you took the public transport from General Santos go to KCC Mall. There are vans bound for Glan the ongoing fare is 100 pesos each. The van take you to the Glan public market, from the market you have to hire a tricyle or motorcyle to take you to the beach resort of your choice.

One caution though, there are no restaurants in the area, although there are small eatery around. so the best thing to do is to bring your own food or you buy raw meat and fresh fish in the market and grill it on the resort. Nevertheless, its not a hindrance to visit the hidden paradise of the south.

Here is a short video a glimpse of Gumasa, Glan, Sarangani Province.

Kusiong Beach Cotabato City

Kusiong is a barangay of Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao. There are a lot of beach resort in these area. The locals commonly called it Kusiong beach of Cotabato City because the nearest city of these beaches is the City of Cotabato. Punta Isla is just one of the resort.

When one decides to visit Kusiong the main road going there is through the SPDA road along the national highway. From here you will traverse a mostly cemented road, there are some parts that are rough. It will take you about 20 minutes by vehicle to reach Kusiong.

The road towards Kusiong is quiet remote. You will meet a few villagers. A forested mountain or hill is what you will see besides the road. As you reach Kusiong there is a small community along the beach.

You can enjoy the refreshing water. The water in Kusiong is a combination of sea water and water from the Liguasan marsh. It is always warm. The waves is very minimal because it does not directly faces the sea.

Mantigue Island, Camiguin, Philippines

I travelled to Mantigue Island on September 2009. The weather condition was so fine, you can feel the warmth of the sun. Around 8 am in the morning we rented a small "banka" or boat to go to the island, the rent then was 500 pesos for 6 people. The person owning the banka will wait for you until you all return to the mainland of Camiguin.

As we approach the island, you can see the very white sand, that enveloped the area. It was sooo white. It was surrounded by a gleaming white beach of powdery coral sand. I hope I had then my expensive slr canon camera.

Going into these island is not on our plan, but stories of its beauty has made us wondered and explored the island. It was all worth it.
